How are they going to find you with just a corporate website or a rep website like most companies give you? You want to transmit information about your products, but you want to make sure that people locate you instead of your competitors.

3.) Get Personal with your prospects You want to make sure that people understand who you are as a person and get to know you rather than your product because they want to connect with a person rather than a product any day. They want to know who they can turn to.

4.) You want to control your message. There is an adage out there in industry that is that “if you want to have people understand you, then you have to tell your own story your way” and you have to tell that story before your competitors do. You don’t want your competitors telling your story because do you think they are going to tell it right? Probably not if they are your competitors.

5.) You want to be seen as an expert. You want to be the authority within your niche. So, if you are in a fitness business, a wellness business, you want to be an authority in that business, not about the product. You want to know your product, for sure but, you want to be an authority inside your business and have people find you within that niche as being the one person they can count on for the right information and for leadership skills. They want to know that you are a leader and they want to know that you can express your business expertise.

6.) Get more prospects. When people understand that you are an expert within your niche, within your business, within your particular area of expertise, they will come to you as a prospect to either buy your product or join your business. I have proven this principle and so have most leaders in my industry.

7.) Earn more money. Not only can you brand yourself and become an expert and attract right people, using a controlled message you can sell products from your blog. WordPress has many plug in components that allow you to retail products and accept payment like any other website.

A blog, a good WordPress blog could be used just like any website out there. So, you don’t really need a website.
